Shagbark hickories mark the old boundaries of a dairy farm, abandoned in the 1960’s and adjacent to the St. Michael’s preserve. We purchased 11 acres and named it “Skinny Trees Farm” after overhearing visitors comment on how skinny the ash trees in the forest were. The years since then have been a long-term restoration project to replace the invasive roses and dying ash forest with native trees, shrubs, wildflowers, and herbs. We have cultivated a fig orchard, berry patch, and myriad cutting flowers — and built a farm stand to share the bounty with you.
